Bank and credit card reconciliation
We match every bank and card transaction against your records, run down whatever doesn't agree, and give you a reconciliation report that shows the work.
The difference
Automated matching clears the routine lines first, which leaves a short exception list a person actually reviews rather than a full statement nobody has time to check.
Matched at volume, the exception goes to a person
Before you hand anything over
How we handle your data
-
Your systems stay yours.
The work happens in your own accounts, on your own subscriptions, under your ownership. Nothing leaves the systems you have given us access to.
-
Access is requested, never assumed.
Read only wherever the work allows it, asked for per system rather than granted in bulk, and named per person. Credentials are never shared, and your records never sit on personal devices.
-
Preparing stays separate from approving.
A second person reviews before anything is filed or closed. On payables we prepare the run and you're the one who releases it.
Who it’s for
Businesses with real transaction volume across several accounts, where statements and books have drifted apart and nobody has the hours to find out why. This is usually the first thing to slip when a business gets busy.
How we help
- 01 We collect statements from every bank, card, and processor account on a set schedule.
- 02 We match transactions automatically where the data allows it, and by hand where it doesn't.
- 03 We investigate what doesn't agree: timing differences, entry errors, duplicates, and charges nobody recognizes.
- 04 We bring anything unexplained to you while it's still recent enough to dispute.
- 05 We produce a reconciliation report per account and period, so the trail is there when someone asks for it.
What you get
- Every account reconciled on a set cycle.
- Discrepancies found and explained, not carried forward.
- A documented trail behind every balance.
- Unauthorized charges caught while they can still be challenged.
What owners ask about bank and credit card reconciliation
How often should accounts be reconciled?
Weekly for operating accounts, monthly at minimum for everything else. Quarterly is how a small error becomes a year end problem.
What happens when something does not match?
We trace it to source. Most differences are timing or a coding error, and we correct them. Anything that looks unauthorized comes to you the same week, while your bank still has a dispute window open.
Do you need the ability to move money?
No. Read only access is enough to reconcile. We don't need payment rights to do this work, and we would rather not have them.
Is this not just part of bookkeeping?
It is, and it's included in our ongoing bookkeeping. This page is for businesses that want reconciliation as a standalone service, or that have a specific reconciliation problem to solve before deciding on anything larger. If the accounts haven't been reconciled for a long time, start with catch up and clean up instead.
